Kinesiology Therapy | The Wellness Web
Reviewed by Simone Nicholls, BSc. A. Nutritionist
Kinesiology is a safe, effective and non-invasive broad based complementary therapy that uses gentle muscle monitoring to identify underlying stress patterns in the body. It aims to cure the root of a problem, using complementary therapies, rather than simply addressing the presenting symptoms.
– Founder Stephanie Einhorn @The Wellness Web
I recently experienced a session with Holistic Kinesiologist, Stephanie Einhorn from The Wellness Web. Steph has been practicing in Nedlands since 2014 after completing her Bachelor of Science at UWA and her Diploma in Holistic Kinesiology at the College of Complementary Medicine in Sydney.
Originally from Zimbabwe, Steph grew up surrounded by a strong homeopathic influence from her mother and this passion has driven the creation of The Wellness Web platform, to inspire and educate her knowledge following a natural approach to then identify and treat underlying stress issues.
We met at a networking event together and after sharing business & profession stories, I had to come see what the Kinesiology hype was all about and also resolve some stress concerns I thought could be addressed using Steph’s expertise.
Initially we discussed my general health and wellbeing with a few questions to assist in the identification of any areas of concern that may need to be addressed. We all have ‘something’ at ‘some stage’ in our lives that can create a negative space or energy and if left untreated can become a trigger stress response mechanism in the body. We all know stress really takes a toll on our emotional wellbeing and our daily routine can seem harder, less motivating and outright draining.
During my therapy session I spent most of this lying down as Steph examined emotional channels in my body. Two of my identified emotion triggers are ‘Resistance’ and ‘Patience’. I can definitely say I am aware of the patience emotion needing some work and after having a baby in 2014, my patience is TESTED all the time. We worked on a deeper level dissolving and releasing emotional stress around reactivity and frustration too.
My thoughts on Patience following the session…
I would consider myself to be a fast paced person; I like to be self-motivated and productive to create a positive environment that flows well. The waiting game for me really challenges my mind, having to slow down with children has definitely put a few things into perspective and it is OK to stop and chill in a day without missing out on anything. Maybe in the past I thought I would fall behind?
The session with Steph certainly surfaced the awareness of still needing to work on patience more and I know this is always a blessing in disguise.
