Welcome to a New and Innovative way to keep fit and healthy. Introducing the mini-trampoline choreographed to music Boogie Bounce Xtreme Classes, Mandurah.
I experienced the class and interview with founder/instructor ‘Rachel Leeming’. Rachel has a wonderful story behind the scenes about how she relocated from Scotland to Mandurah, Australia and began life with a new home town and business. At only 23 she is extremely inspiring to the fitness world with her success in keeping the community active and for many years to come.
I am usually a cardio girl so my fitness is pretty good, however this class had me tapping into my co-ordination, balance as well as focus to keep on track. The level of intensity for me (existing fitness background) was sitting at about a low with medium intensity outbursts through some of the tracks. For beginners you will be in the medium-intense zone, one lady in the class burnt an outstanding 550 CALORIES Yeehaa! The best part about the experience was the enjoyment and FUN factor and I think it would be a fantastic idea for birthday’s, hens parties and work functions. I can feel a networking event in the works already ♥
How did you become a boogie bounce instructor to then be inspired to bring the classes to Mandurah, WA?
Rachel: I heard about boogie bounce on facebook with a class just started in my area back in Scotland so I booked in right away. I loved the class, it was great fun yet still an effective workout that makes you sweat! I had already planned a move to Australia and started researching whether this fitness craze had reached WA yet – it hadn’t. I then completed my BBX instructor training in the UK and began plans with the CEO Jenny Belcher to spread across the globe. Within two months of arriving in Australia I began my classes here in Mandurah, and have never looked back!
What is it about Bounce Boogie that makes it a unique form of exercise compared to other classes?
Rachel: The main difference between Boogie Bounce and other classes is that it is Low Impact. The trampoline absorbs the shock on the joints, while strengthening the muscles – this makes it ideal for anyone with knee problems or other injuries. Also, as everyone has their own trampoline each individual can workout at their own pace – a 76 year old and a 20 year old can join the same class side by side and adapt it to their fitness level. Each class is fun, yet effective – what more could you want from a fitness class?!
What are your 3 tips to keeping healthy and fit?
- Ensure you have a balance. Exercise is important and has many benefits but you must ensure your body is having enough rest too.
- Find a friend to workout with – you can both motivate and inspire each other to keep going.
- Make exercise fun! Keeping fit doesn’t have to be boring and hard work. Try new classes, meet new people and enjoy yourself.
If you would like to experience this fantastic low impact and fun way to workout, you can find Boogie Bounce Mandurah on Facebook which has all the details you need to book and and connect with Rachel.
